Dina Al-Mahdy works as Head of Projects Coordination Unit, Bibliotheca Alexandrina (Library of Alexandria). She is Chief Operating Officer at Women of Egypt Network. She is also a certified corporate board director at International Finance Corporation.

Dina is a freelance writer at numerous local and international magazines and newspapers: Al-Ahram Weekly, Medium Magazine, Elephant Journal, and Women of Egypt Magvario. She is also a freelance translation consultant at UNESCO Egypt and a freelance translator at various publishing houses inside and outside Egypt: Egypt’s National Center for Translation, Dar Dawen Publishers, Bloomsbury Publishing, and Austin Macauley Publishers.

Due to her extensive experience in translation rights and practices, she works as a freelance project manager at Dawen Publishers, to supervise the Arabic translation project.

Dina was also the contest coordinator and the honorary judge in 2018 Women of Egypt First Writing Contest for Children and in 2020 Women of Egypt Jewelry Designers Competition to heighten awareness for eliminating violence against women and girls in the world.

Dina received her BA of Language and Translation from the Faculty of Arts, English Department, Alexandria University. She studied a Diploma of Higher Education in Translation Studies, University of Cambridge, UK.

She is a graduate of the AUC. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics, Concentration Electronics, Minor Computer Science. She was the Vice President, Alarabyyia Lel Istithmaraat (AIND) from July 2010 till Feb 2012

She Returned company to profitability through strategic and efficient restructuring.

Currently, she is the Executive Chairperson, from October 2018 till Present of Avis Budget Egypt and Ezz El-Arab Group. She is building a platform to provide modern mobility solutions to the Egyptian market.

She has extensive experience in drafting all kinds of legal agreements, she holds an HONORARY PROFESSORSHIP in International Business Organization from University of Hertfordshire, UK 2017

She is highly involved in drafting legal opinions on a wide range of corporate issues and conducting legal due diligence reports, advisory and other legal services to the government and various private projects specialized
in various industries, including oil & gas retail, shipping, distribution and logistics, health and medical, education, free zones, real estate, natural resources and energy

She took part in drafting Egyptian PPP Law and played key role in drafting PPP related model agreements and direct agreements. She was the head of the legal team of the Egyptian government and successfully reached the financial close of the first PPP in the MENA region (New Cairo Wastewater Treatment Plant).

She is highly specialized in the preparation and negotiation of tender offers for submission to public authorities, relevant contractual structures and arrangement of project financing and refinancing scheme.
She provides advice in international trade contracts and disputes, construction, IT, IP and labor matters, and finding suitable and effective forms of establishment of new businesses, from advising on documents for establishing companies, branches, subsidiaries or international corporate structures, to giving corporate advice on day to day matters, attending Board and Shareholders meetings and obtaining and registering official
authorizations, licenses and visas.

She acts as a legal deal maker to secure the best deal for the client and ensure the most successful legal position to maintain the clients’ business and commercial goals and clear contractual relationship.

Dr. Tahoun founded and manages her own Firm TAHOUN & Associates, Board Member in various Egyptian companies and among other NGOs.
